Following extensive community consultation, the new playground equipment at the recreation ground has been successfully installed and is now open for use. The new equipment includes modern safety features, accessible play areas for children of all abilities, and has been designed to blend with the natural environment. The project was completed on time and within budget, thanks to the support of local contractors and volunteers. We encourage all families to visit and enjoy these fantastic new facilities.

The council has approved the annual budget with increased funding for community facilities maintenance and environmental improvements. Key allocations include £15,000 for pavilion renovations, £8,000 for allotment improvements, and £12,000 for environmental projects including tree planting and biodiversity initiatives. Bedfordshire Council has confirmed the winter gritting routes and schedule for Henlow parish roads during the upcoming winter period. Priority routes include High Street, Station Road, and all bus routes. Secondary routes will be treated when temperatures drop below -2°C. Residents are reminded that grit bins are located at key points throughout the parish for community use. Please use grit sparingly and only on public paths and roads.

Summary of recent planning application decisions and current applications under review that may affect parish residents. Three applications were approved for home extensions on Groveside, subject to conditions. The application for 15 new homes on Station Road has been deferred pending further traffic impact assessment. Two applications for tree works in conservation areas were approved. The Parish Council continues to review all applications and represents residents' views to Central Bedfordshire Council.
